The Week That Wasn't
Have you ever felt like you're in a fog? Left feeling that you've been somewhere, but when you look back you can't quite make out what's behind you?
That's what my week has been like.
This has been my first week back since Vertigo kicked me in the ass. It hasn't been an easy week either. On Monday, my anti-dizzy pills (as I call 'em) ran out, leaving me with one last dose that morning. The effect wore off sometime in the afternoon, and took me by complete surprise. I thought I was going to throw up on several different occations. Kyle ended up taking me home from work.
Tuesday came, and Amanda took me to work since I left my car the night before. I honestly felt much better all that day, until I got behind the wheel of the car. You don't realize how much you truely concentrate when you're in your car. Well, I was doing double duty, as any sudden movements would make me a bit dizzy. Thankfully, Kyle followed me home and I made it with no problem.
Wednesday comes and goes with Kyle going home early from what appears to be nausia and an upset stomach to me getting really dizzy while I was trying to run some cable. I guess I still can't look up and try to do work above my head without me feeling like I'm going to fall down. It took me a few hours to get over it, but once the spell was done with, I was pretty good to go.
Today came even more good news ... Bill left for work almost immediately after I arrived due to flu-like symptoms. Kyle called in before Bill left with flu-like symptoms. Jerry came into the office later that afternoon complaining of flu-like symptoms.
I'm doomed to catch the flu. I already have a cough.
So, on my way home, I stopped by CVS and bought two backs of cough drops, a bag of vitamin C candies, antacids (the smooth dissovle kind), and some flu medicine ... just in case. Amanda picked me up a bottle of vitamin C pills, which I'm taking 2000mg of. I'm going to take a bag of cough drops to work with me tomorrow to help with this annoying hack I've developed, in addition to the vitamin C pills.
I don't want to get sick again. I HATE being sick.
So, here I am. I'm just starting to get over my Vertigo, but am showing signs of catching some kind of bug. There's a probability that I might get the flu as everyone else in the office seems to have gotten a little something.
Should be an interesting week next week.
