The First Real Entry
Okay, so I have this blog up, I figured I might as well start to fill it up with something ... so here goes.
I've been sick since th 26th of November. All I know is that one day I really started to get dizzy while I was at work. It took everything in my power to finish the day, and I had a really hard time concentrating on my way home. Thankfully I got to leave early that day thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday.
By the time I got home that evening, I knew something was wrong and asked Amanda to take me to the doctor. There's a doctor's office across the road that specializes in helping sick people when other doctor's offices are closed, so we went there. By this time my head felt very cloudy and it was hard to concentrate on even the simplest of things. I was given a little brochure to read, and I swear that it took everything I had to read it.
When I finally got in to see the doctor, he diagnosed me with Vertigo. I'd never had Vertigo before and I was a bit scared at the diagnosis. What could be causing it? What could possibly be wrong with me? The doctor suggested a few possible reasons for the dizziness, including viral infection, inner ear infection, fluid buildup in the ear canal, among others. He gave me medicine to help with the dizziness and told me to follow up with my PCP.
Now, while I do have insurance, I didn't have a PCP at that time. So, being the procrastinator that I typically am, I just thought that I could hold off and the symptoms would go away in a day or so. Come Saturday, the dizziness just got worse. I couldn't stand to stand. The only real relief I had was when I was laying down in the bed ... and alseep. So, after calling mom to see what she thought I should do, Amanda and I headed over to the ER where they did some blood tests and a cat scan. I'm proud to announce that I'm as healthy as a horse ... a dizzy horse.
So, the doc at the hosptial told me that I need some more medicine and needed to see my PCP. Okay, so I definately needed to get a PCP ... fine ... I'll let Amanda deal with that since it's hard enough to concentrate when I'm sitting watching TV. And Amanda did a fantastic job too ... she found us a doctor that actually took the time to talk to us and explain the problems with Vertigo and what we could and couldn't do to relieve the dizziness.
So, I'm sitting here and it's been 10 days since I first started feeling bad, and I'm just now back to a point to where I feel somewhat human again. Yeah, I'm still dizzy, but it's not nearly as bad as what it was a few days ago. Apparently the medicine I've been taking has been kickin butt and taking names. I'm hoping that it'll be all cleared up by Monday morning and I'll be able to go back to work.
Damn I've been bored.
But I've gotten some quality FFXI time in while I've been sick. Granted that I haven't been able to play much since I've been sleeping so much thanks to some of the medicine I've been given. But, I'm a lvl 15 RDM and have been working on building up a second job as a WHM. Now if I can only figure out what I need to do to use my subjob....
