Level Up in FFXI

Kyle told me a few weeks ago that it was very possible to level up at least 3 times in a given day, provided that you had a party that kicked ass. Today, I was in such a party.

I've been playing FFXI since about 3pm this afternoon. Can't really do much of anything else due to being sick ... but sitting in the chair and playing the game tends to be a bit relaxing for me.

Anyhoo ... this great party finds me almost immediately. I was a bit cautious at first as I had partied with some of the people in this particular group before and ended up arguing with them on how to play as a RDM. But after about 30 mins of playing I realized that we really had something good going on. Turns out one of the members, who happened to be a THF/WAR, was a damn good player. Since he was such a great player, I was able to be a great spotter, casting healing and enfeebling spells as required. Hell, at one point we even had two white mages in the party, allowing me to concentrate on enfeebling and the group to exp chain.

Each time someone had to leave, this THF/WAR and I would manage to pull other people in that were either on the same level of playing skill or above. I don't think that we slowed down the entire night. On average, we were pulling in mobs with exp from 100-200 ... and sometimes even higher. So, to sum it up, I managed to go from a lvl 16 to a lvl 19 RDM in a matter of 8 hours. Now THAT is some damn good playing time. Had I been playing before 3pm, I honestly believe I might have made it to lvl 20.

I somehow doubt that I will EVER find a party this good again. Man was it ever so much fun.

Oh, and I just did the math ... I was getting 1500 exp per hour. That's 25 exp per min and 0.42 exp per second I was playing. DAMN.

Sickness is as sickness does

Okay. I'm getting pissed.

At what? Well, I'm just now getting over my Vertigo, and sure enough I come down with the flu.

At least I think it's the flu. It's some kind of nasty bug if it isn't he flu.

I don't have a fever, and my nose is staying stuffed up. I do have a nasty cough, however, with phlem. Mom always told me growing up to "get that stuff up", which is exactly what I've been doing. My nose is also running like a damn faucet, and I have to give it a good blow every few minutes. The reason why I think it might be the flu is due to what happened last night. I was sitting at the computer and sneezed really hard. It literally hurt my entire body ... I thought my arms were going to fall off. I got up and started walking around, and started shaking all over ... even my teeth were knocking together. I went to the kitchen, took all the medicine I had to take and went immediately to bed.

I absolutely HATE being sick. It's fucked up my plans for today completely. I was supposed to go xmas shopping with Amanda and we were supposed to go to the company xmas party this evening. Guess what... I'm not doing either now. No, instead I will be coughing up a lung all night long waiting to either get better or to die.

At least I have FFXI to play till I get better. :)
